Tatting

These are the samples of needle tatting I made last night. I know they are not perfect but I was quite pleased with my efforts. I'd be very happy if someone could point me in the right direction though(smile)

Today I bought a shuttle and a book that seems to have quite clear instructions called The Complete Book of Tatting by Rebecca Jones.

Wow, what can't you do? I remember when I worked at Franks as Craft dept. manager, I ordered tatter....but never learned quite how to use it........good job.

You know the old saying Judy, Jack of all trades, master of none I'm afraid.

You are doing so well. If you look at mt latest heart it has what looks like tatting.... but it's just cast-on stitch. I think I will do this for a while until I can get mt brain around doing it without the fabric.
You have to try linking the rings with chains next!

Hi Jo, I did notice your 'tatting' on your heart I think it was green and it looks lovely. Now that is a new one. I shall have to look up 'cast on stitch'. You have mentioned it before and I thought you meant needle tatting until you mentioned doing it without the fabric now.

Oh, good for you. In the words of the song, I can't tat, don't ask me... Oh, that's dance, isn't it? Och well, the end result is the same.

Gosh, I haven't seen anyone tat for years! I can crochet with teeny tiny hooks and make doilies (but I don't), but I never learned to tat. Whatever happened to macrame? I used to do that too.
