Stitch It

Oriel Mostyn 087

I have always thought that people who live close to places such as ARIO and Art Van Go are lucky. So I think that most of the creative people in this area of North Wales will, like myself be extremely happy to know that we now have our very own specialist shop selling everything we need whether we are textile artists, mixed media artists or just enjoy any other creativity. As Carol (Worthington) sells all we need and she will also be having workshops on the premises. It is just a couple of minutes away from the station which is a big bonus.

The courses will be starting very soon and I can tell you now that she has some very talented tutors lined up. Carol Mcfee who is co-writer of that very special book Stitching the Textured Surface with Lynda Monk will be taking workshops and also Miriam Forder who is a very popular tutor in the area and a member of the SerenTex textile group. Another very talented member of the SerenTex group, Rosemary Kenyon (the set of bags on this page were made by her) will also be taking workshops. so you see there is already a very impressive line-up.

If you visit the SerenTex blog and do a search for Miriam or Rosemary you will find many samples of their beautiful work.

what a wonderful development Mags. That will be so useful. I miss my little local place on the island... here we're in dire need of something that's textile specific.

So glad that Carol and Lynda will be getting involved too... great opportunities for everyone to see their wonderful work eh!

NIt's going to be really useful Helen. It's just Carol who will be giving workshops as Lynda is too far away I'm afraid.

I don't know whether to move to North Wales now, or Great Missenden to be near Rainbow Silks! I like the sound of those workshops. Have fun!

How exciting Mags :) I shall know what to do next time we have a holiday in North Wales. I hope they are going to have a website.
