Today’s workshop went well and I hope the students enjoyed it as much as I did. They were all inexperienced and working on borrowed machines. We had 4 machines between eight students, so it worked quite well with two sharing each one. We could have done with couple of extra hours to finish the work. We covered lots of techniques and they then made an item or items of their own choice, making notebook covers, hanging hearts and needle books. They covered such a lot in a very short time and have promised to add stitches and embellishments to the work at home.
The students!
The work!
A special mention. This purse was made by a young lady who insisted she didn’t stitch, but she just got on with this and did more hand stitching than anyone else, even making a button with the embellisher. I loved it. I explained that simple running stitches, blanket stitch and cross stitch are quite acceptable in modern textiles.

great work Mags. So glad you had such a good day. It looks like they all must have really enjoyed it.
What lovely work they all produced! they must have left with a great sense of achievement
What a wonderful array of work from your students Mags. They've really got to grips with the embellisher and I can see sales rising! Lots of inspiration there for the rest of us.
Thanks for your lovely comments.
They certainly look like they are enjoying the workshop. The samples are great.
