Back in Time

What a wonderful afternoon some of the SerenTex members had on Tuesday. We were all invited to tea at Janine’s beautiful 18th century cottage in the lovely Conwy Valley. This is not a very good photo because the sun was right behind the house, but if you follow my blog you will have seen another house of a very similar design here in Betws y Coed that I love. This was my first visit here and I was absolutely thrilled with it.

This is Janine on the left of the photo with Carol and her grand daughter Chloe.

Behind the banister here on the right is a ‘coffin hole’. This could be found in many small cottages because it was difficult to bring a corpse down the narrow stairs, so they opened the little coffin door to make more room to manoeuvre.

A small corner of the new studio and a pure white cat, I’m afraid I forgot to ask her name.

We were treated to lovely old fashioned tea with home made scones, jam and clotted cream. The weather was perfect for eating outside.

I shall put some more photos and some textiles on the SerenTEx blog shortly.

What a beautiful cottage and setting. You can imagine all the lives that have enjoyed such a place.

What a lovely day you all had Mags - idyllic setting, perfect weather, good food and company and textiles too! Who could ask for anything more?

What a beautiful place to live and lovely to share it for a while with friends.
