But as I'm not really a quilter it was not important for me to read the artist statements, I just enjoyed the feast of colour and design. The names would not have meant much to me either. I apologise if I'm mistaken and that all the names were there. There will be a catalog of all the work which will be published shortly.Digitalgranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18213778111516418003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20109651.post-87247513048578222622008-08-20T20:29:00.000+01:002008-08-20T20:29:00.000+01:00Well, that is just awful that you have to go to su...Well, that is just awful that you have to go to such trouble to identify the quilts. At the International Quilt Festival in Houston, the artist's statement is right next to each quilt. When photography is allowed, I take a photo of the quilt, sometimes a detail and always a photo of the statement. I can read them when I look at my photos at home and understand what the quilter was trying to achieve.
There are just too many quilts to absorb all that at the festival, I know. I buy the catalogs for the exhibits that don't allow photos because those are often the shows that are such visual knockouts.
Thanks.:Dianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06206373992572034687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20109651.post-69440104209085034852008-08-20T13:22:00.000+01:002008-08-20T13:22:00.000+01:00I love the floral one too and also very much like ...I love the floral one too and also very much like the quirkiness and colours of the dwellings/landscape no matter whose they are!
